My affiliate program is not 50%, it is 50% more generous. I researched the affiliate market for the website builders and made my cut bigger (20% avg market vs 33% mine).
The earnings were lame. I made $500 or so. I assume this happened because the affiliate program software I used was broken. It was the Paddle's built-in affiliate management system which was soo buggy. Paddle stopped maintaining it and shut it down eventually.
I guess they’re not really gamblers just low quality customers (as per your 3rd point). They know what they’re buying when they buy it, it’s just easier for them to pull the trigger on random purchases and refund later if they don’t like/need it.
Most SaaS would give you a refund cuz it is easier for them to give a refund rather than deal with a chargeback. So I believe it is not a people problem, but a platform problem.
Thanks Nika. I think AppSumo can be used to get a backlink. But my goal has always been building a community, not backlinks. So I'd prefer ignore AppSumo and focus on clients. Good clients will give me much more backlinks than I will ever build myself.
Did you find any other flow on benefits from the launch? Such as press coverage, your back links to the product page, anything else other than the money that may have made it worthwhile?
Congrats on making $15,000.
How much did you make with the 50% from your affiliate program?
We have MANY amazing customers but a few overly demanding ones which we are banning / removing.
I wouldn't call it churn but more we have a generous refund policy (60 days) and many customers who love to try out new cool software like yours.

Can you tell me how much you made...
You said 70% cut on your product so is it 4,500$?
Hey. I made $15k after all commissions.

Interesting breakdown!

Good reading. 🙂 Would you recommend it to use it only in terms having another backlink? 🔗

Good advice given to me, thank you! :)

There was a traffic bump, but not significant. Sales did not increase much despite the increased interest.
Product Hunt launches gave much more noticeable results.
I'm not going to app sumo, haha
Thanks for reminding me about Substack Sumith!! 🙂🤝
It is an amazing platform which I discovered Lately, I love it and promoting it haha.
Me too!
I can't understand it, you said "They just took all my money lol", but payout is ~$15K, so it means there is bigger number before taxes?
I got some money (15k before taxes). But they took the majority of the profit. So it feels like they took all the money.
It is an emotional message. It does not literally means they left me with $0 🙂
